Jefferson Township's Performing Hearts Challenger Dance Program
Jefferson Township is proud to introduce an exciting new dance program designed specifically for girls and boys with physical or mental challenges. The program features creative rhythm movement to Broadway music and pop-chart favorites; styles will include elements of ballet, jazz and percussive dance and the use of props. All sessions will include a short showcase performance for those interested. Starting this summer, one of our primary sponsors, the Dance Academy of North Jersey, will host the classes and provide the faculty. All fees have been waived for these programs, thanks to Jefferson Township Recreation Department, our sponsors and contributors.
The Program is open to girls and boys ages 5 to18 with physical or mental challenges. It will be conducted at the facilities of one of our sponsors, The Dance Academy of North Jersey. (The Dance Academy of North Jersey is located at 770 Route 15 South, Lake Hopatcong, NJ -- directions to their facility can be found on their website at www.danj.us). Dr. Patti Krapels, a Chiropractic physician specializing in pediatrics and an experienced children’s dance instructor, will lead our team. The following sessions have been scheduled for 2010:
Register for the Open House, Summer Dance and/or After School Dance Programs as follows:

- Open House: Free Classes, Saturday, June 5th from 8:45am to 9:45am
- Summer Dance: 2 five-day sessions, July 12-16 & August 2-6, 10am – 11am
- After School Dance: 11-week session, Wednesdays, September 8 thru November 17, 2010 from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.
